We prepare the construction workforce and its trainers for the challenges of today and tomorrow, giving employers the highly skilled workers they need to build our communities more safely. In addition to IAS accredited curriculum, we provide a broad range of expertise and program support to more than 70 LIUNA Training affiliated training centers.

Curricula Development

First and foremost, we develop the most comprehensive and up-to-date training available for our industry, with over 50 programs featuring more than 200 modules. Our content area covers everything from Building Construction to Demolition, Environmental Remediation and Safety. All programs are fully customizable, able to meet specific training center needs.

What's more, we continually update and create new courses to ensure LIUNA members have the latest information and learn in-demand skills. For example, in our Weatherization Program you'll learn basic building science as well as how to conduct an energy audit, seal a building envelope and install new earth-friendly insulation.

It's important to know all our training is developed by experts, adheres to strict standards, is pilot tested and independently accredited. That means our graduates are ready to tackle the job, safely and competently, on day one. Because there's trained, and there's LIUNA-trained.

Instructor Training/ Certification

The quality of an education is only as good as the quality of the instructors, and we train ours to be among the best. Instructor training includes a professional development program comprised of instructional techniques and advanced training in a wide variety of construction skills.

Our certification process ensures that our instructors attain the knowledge and skills needed to teach with technical and educational expertise. Each must pass a combination of written exams and hands-on assessments to validate industry knowledge, craft skills, and instructional techniques. These personal and professional challenges ensure program quality and integrity throughout North America.

Training Center Support

LIUNA Training offers an array of services for our training centers, including IT tools and support, grant-writing assistance, plus research and information on new industry regulations. We offer training assistance with new courses, training center staff training, and networking through conferences and workshops. We help training centers achieve third party accreditation through customized consulting and have developed a comprehensive "Guide to Accreditation" to help them prepare.
