We keep instructor skills sharp with continuing education.

Just as learning doesn't take place in a vacuum, neither does professional development. LIUNA Training offers instructors opportunities to learn technical skills, share ideas, try different teaching strategies and meet new challenges at our one-of-a kind instructor conference.
Every year, 300 instructors participate in a week of intensive training at the LIUNA Training Annual Instructor Conference (AIC) where they take a professional development course of their choice. More than 20 different courses are offered. Selections vary each year according to training center input and may include Green Construction, Line and Grade, Hoisting and Rigging, Advanced Instructional Techniques, Public Speaking, Employability Skills and many more. Participating instructors receive a full week of accredited training in instructional practices or industry skills that they need to teach trade workers and supervisors at their training centers. Interaction with other instructors, industry and educational professionals, and LIUNA Training staff helps instructors build lasting professional contacts and strengthens the LIUNA training network.
In addition to the AIC, we also offer instructor technical and professional training sessions throughout the year. Topics are selected based upon a training center needs survey, but always include construction skills, safety and educational development options.
