Training workers to be leaders.

Construction Craft Laborers have many career paths available, such as learning new and different aspects of construction. Becoming a supervisor is another rewarding career path. Those who often take command of a situation, know how to get a complex job done, and who are sought out for advice, are often good candidates to become construction supervisors.

The LIUNA Supervisor Training Program builds worker's construction experience to help you learn how to teach them, oversee workers, and manage their assigned portion of a construction project. In the supervisor training, participants learn about their new responsibilities, how to deal with different types of people and how to communicate better, how to schedule work, complete forms, and keep their crew safe. This program can serve as a stepping stone for jobs such as certified safety professional, general foreman, laborer foreman, site safety and health officer, or site superintendent.

Training to become a supervisor helps workers advance and gives them the confidence they need to pursue more responsible positions in construction.
