Assurances > Pilot Program Testing

We pilot test programs to ensure effectiveness.

Competitive organizations look to the future and embrace change. As a leader in trade career advancement, LIUNA Training actively seeks new construction technologies, emerging industry specialties, and effective tools to enhance worker and instructor training. These industry trends require us to continually update programs and introduce new ones.

With constant change, how do we ensure programs meet
quality standards and accreditation criteria?

Our Quality Management System (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) require pilot testing of all new programs before we make them available for training center use. Course pilot tests take place in actual classroom situations; usually instructors participate as students. The entire course is presented, and the facilitator and participants provide feedback. During the pilot, Subject Matter Experts, the curriculum developer, and LIUNA Training staff observe the training. Each observer submits a report that includes recommendations for change. These suggestions and user comments provide a better final product.

Course evaluation and improvement doesn't stop with the pilot. At the end of each class, training centers ask workers to evaluate the training. Instructors also informally assess courses for suitability, effectiveness, and content each time they conduct training. All these measures help us embrace change and prepare for the future.
